Today, seems Aromatherapy is making a comeback in a way it was always meant to be.

As vengeful as nature is, she is also our key to living on earth as we know it.  So how can you, the spa owner and all human nature benefit from the natural aromatics of nature’s garden?

Science has proven the elements of nature over and over in medicine and research.  We also know the limbic portion of our brain is linked to our sense of smell and memory.  Essentials oils are now used more and more today in both disease treatment and prevention.  The facts are in, Mother Nature is more powerful then Science is willing to admit!  Research today is more and more discovering the veracity about the actions of plant extracts and using them in medical preparations. So, what did the Ancients, Chinese and Egyptians know that we forgot?

Pure and simple, the real meaning of Body, Mind and Soul balance through the use of nature, just as ancient oriental medicine found out and still practices today.  Life is energy, and the plant kingdom is filled with this energy that is in all essence, the key of life itself.  Flowers, bark, leaves, peels, seeds all give forth aromas that carry us into bliss. Fresh fruit zest makes us tingle and herbs bring taste to food, but they go far beyond this.  Essential oils and their extracts are also volatile, germicide, anti-bacterial, fungicide and penetrate deeply into the skin through the blood circulation carrying their properties into our metabolism.  But plants also provide us with vitamins, proteins, minerals, trace elements, sugars … in one word : LIFE, it’s to say ENERGY which means Health.

The term “aromatherapy” consists of primarily pure essential oils use, extracted from plants, in an ample range of treatments of health and beauty, as well as by mere pleasure.  One of the reasons for the increasing interest by all the alternative or complementary medicine forms and by the traditional homemade remedies, is that they offer "a natural" form for us to take care of our health.  Modern medicine (or allopathy ) is very satisfactory in general terms to a point, but in today’s age, time has shown that different forms are available to prevent diseases and with knowledge on how to use these simple and safe homemade remedies to treat the daily diseases and in their prevention.

Of course, nothing is as simple as it seems.  The practice of Aromatherapy / Phyto-Aromatherapy is very complex.  In the first place, it does not mean the same for all those that use it and, secondly, the oils, although they are simple because they are extracted pure and natural from that of a single plant, in fact are very complex and powerful substances that must be used with extreme care, knowledge and experience.  Essential oils can simply be used by their fragrance and its effects on our moods and emotions, but in professional practice, their physiological effect is crucial.  This effect is obtained generally through the oils that are used in that of massages, but some doctors also use essential oils following the tradition of the French pioneer, René-Maurice Gatte-fossé, that is to say, in prescribed oral doses in minimum amounts and through inhalation. Today, this is becoming more and more apparent in that of cosmetics and cosmetic applied treatments.

The word "Aromatherapy" means therapy through the aromas literally, without specifying the origin of those aromas. Actually, aromatherapy uses only that of essential oils.  Its peculiarity is in which the oils to each other have different aspects, complementary and that also can be overlapped, that is doubtlessly unique creating a true live and natural synergy.

In the medical professional practices, the importance are the substances found within these precious elements and their biochemical effects, whereas in many homemade uses of essential oils, it is the aroma that matters, and the pleasure that is obtained from that aroma being the main reason of using them.
